FAQ

1) WHO SHOULD I CONTACT IF I HAVE QUESTIONS?

You can send us a message through our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/lgsawa and we will respond within 24 hours. You may also send an email to [email protected].

2) WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED TO PROVIDE?

The league supplies basic equipment assigned to coaches: gear bag, catchers gear, a bat if requested, practice and game balls. As far as equipment that you should provide for your p
layer, we suggest a batting helmet with a face cage, plastic nubbed cleats, and a fielding glove. Optional equipment would be batting gloves, a bat, and sliding knee pads. Included in the registration fee are: uniform shirt, USA Softball registration, Player's insurance, USA Softball umpire fees, and basic equipment.

MUST HAVES:
Softball Fielding Glove (8U to 10U- 11 Inch to 13 Inch Recommended)  (12U to 14U- 11.5 inch to 14 Inch recommended) 
Softball Fielding/Pitching Face Mask (Highly Recommended) 
Plastic/rubber Cleats
Personal Batting Helmet with Face Cage (Face Cage Required)
Batting Gloves (Optional) 
Sliding Shorts (recommended but not required for 10U+)
Knee Guards/Sliders - (recommended but not required for 8U+)
Socks (color according to coach)
Shorts or Pants (color according to coach)

3) WHERE, WHEN & WHAT DAYS ARE PRACTICES?

Your coach will call you as soon as teams are formed. If you have not received a phone call from your coach by March 13th, please email [email protected].

4) WHERE & WHEN DO WE PLAY GAMES?

Games will be played at 7th Avenue Park (Longview), Tam O' Shanter Park (Kelso),  and North County Fields (Castle Rock), and Rainier High School Park (Rainier, Oregon).

6) WHAT IF I WANT A REFUND?

Our goal is to be flexible and fair. Any reasonable situation which arises, we will respond to. We ask for you to understand our needs of a time frame wherein we can fairly respond. Once teams have been formed and uniforms ordered, barring highly unusual or unforeseen circumstances, refunds will not be issued.

7) HOW CAN I HELP OUT?

There are many ways! Each team needs volunteers and your support is key to ensuring a successful league for the team. Your fees do not pay any salaries - we are all volunteers! Here are positions you may consider:

Raffle Committee
Concession Stand Staff
Field work party
Team Manager
Team Scorekeeper
Head Coach
Assistant Coach
LGSA Board Member Positions if available

8) How do I tryout for a tournament team and what all does it consist of?

If your daughter is athletic and wants to take her game to the next level she can tryout for a tournament team. Being on a tournament teams takes a commitment out of both player and parents. There will be some additional fees and some traveling. If you would like to get into contact with a tournament coach you can email [email protected] and we will try and get you connected with a coach.
